Front Desk Manager:
EOP front desk managers play a pivotal role in creating a warm and inviting atmosphere at the EOP & SSS Tutorial Center, the heart of all EOP tutoring activities. They are the welcoming face of the center, ensuring a smooth and supportive environment for students to thrive academically. Key responsibilities include organizing the space for optimal learning, facilitating the use of study rooms, managing the computer lab, and keeping the center tidy and inviting. The perfect candidate is someone who appreciates the value and mission of EOP, is proficient with office software, embodies a professional and friendly demeanor, has strong communication skills, and possesses a background in customer service. This role offers $15 per hour for 6-12 hours weekly, with opportunities for Federal Work Study. EOP typically begins looking for Front Desk Managers at the end of the Spring semester to begin working in the following Fall semester.
Peer Course Tutor:
EOP is continually seeking peer course tutors to significantly impact their peers' academic achievements. Tutors will conduct one-on-one sessions with EOP students, offering assistance in subjects where they have achieved a grade of B+ or higher. We expect tutors to be available for 6 to 15 hours weekly, have a minimum GPA of 3.0, exemplary communication abilities, and a deep appreciation for EOP's historical significance and mission. Tutors receive compensation of $15 per hour, plus two hours of weekly prep time pay. Additionally, this role offers a pathway to earn Level 1 Certification from the College Reading and Learning Association (CRLA) and further professional development opportunities, making it an enriching experience for those looking to enhance their educational journey while contributing to the success of their fellow students. EOP is constantly looking for peer course tutors, however, that search is based on what courses students need tutoring in.
Academic Skills Tutor:
EOP academic skills tutors play an essential role in supporting EOP's students ability to master key academic success strategies. This role is pivotal in offering tailored guidance through proactive outreach to assigned students, requiring a commitment of at least 4 hours weekly during the Fall and Spring semesters. Tutors will focus on enhancing students' time management, organization, study strategies, and more, while also participating in workshops and training for certification in the College Reading and Learning Association鈥檚 (CRLA) Level 01 International Peer Educator Training Program. Candidates should have direct experience with EOP, a minimum GPA of 3.0, strong communication and organizational skills, and a dedication to fostering academic growth. Benefits include a $15 per hour coaching rate plus additional pay for administrative tasks, flexible hours, opportunities for professional development, and international certification, offering a rich experience for individuals passionate about educational support and student success. EOP usually begins looking for candidates who would like to be academic skills tutors at the end of the Fall semester, and who will be trained in the Spring semester.
Lead Tutor:
EOP lead tutors play an essential role in the ongoing professional development of EOP tutors and in advancing the mission to provide EOP students with high-quality tutoring services. In addition to regular tutoring duties, including both course tutoring and academic skills tutoring, lead tutors are responsible for mentoring, observing, and providing feedback to peer tutors and managing administrative tasks in the tutorial center. Lead tutors are selected from EOP's peer tutors who showcase an eagerness to want to both assist students and develop their craft. Beyond their scheduled tutoring hours, lead tutors receive $16 per hour and benefit from further training and professional development opportunities. EOP selects lead tutors during the end of the Spring semester, when previous lead tutors graduate.
