First-year programs

The Emerging Leaders Program (ELP) is a multi-faceted leadership development program for first-semester first-year students (freshman and transfer). The ELP provides first-year students with an opportunity to immediately connect to the º£½ÇÂÒÂ×ÉçÇø community and greater º£½ÇÂÒÂ×ÉçÇø community by practicing leadership and participating in a high impact learning experience.

º£½ÇÂÒÂ×ÉçÇø’s First Year Experience seminars (UNIV 101/103) are two-credit-hour courses designed to connect º£½ÇÂÒÂ×ÉçÇø first-year students to a faculty and professional staff member on campus in a small class setting. They provide students with an opportunity to explore an academic topic of interest, cultivate critical thinking and writing skills, and assist them in making a successful transition to º£½ÇÂÒÂ×ÉçÇø.
