The health and safety of our international community is of utmost importance to ISSS. We want to make sure that all of our international students and scholars have the information they need to stay healthy and seek support if needed.

University Police Department

Our University Police Department has the primary mission is to provide a safe environment for the campus community. Protecting life and property, preventing and investigating crime, and maintaining public order are among their top priorities. With this in mind, the University Police Department has information on their website about improving community safety on and off campus, self-defense training courses, and tips about keeping yourself and your property safe.

The University Police Department considers all community members partners in campus safety. The campus is equipped with more than 80 highly visible "blue-light" telephones that connect directly to the New York State University Police Dispatch Center when picked up. There is also a Safe Ride program, campus gates are closed to vehicular traffic from midnight to 5 a.m., and residence hall access is by key card only.
